Hey everyone!!!! So this was a super fun week! We started off the week by trimming a ton down off of this thorn-covered tree. The sister missionaries have an investigator who is super old and can't do the tree cutting and the HOA was going to find her because of her tree being so close to the road and sidewalk. So we brought a members chainsaw with us and after a few good hours the tree was all trimmed but it was all over the yard and the driveway. It was a good day.
We've also been having to get really creative in how we find new investigators or new people to teach. What we've started doing is after every dinner we share a message with whoever fed us and for the message we share some scriptures about missionary work and as they do missionary work they get points as a family and we tell them that if they get a certain amount of points as a goal that they're going to set as a family that we will come over and we will let them pie us in the face. We haven't been pied yet but some families are getting close and we are very excited.
We've also been helping a lot of people move out before the summer hits. We've helped out two people move in or out and we're helping two people next week move in and out again. People told me that I'd help people move houses a lot and I didn't believe them but I have. The hardest is maneuvering large furniture around corners and downstairs at the same time.
We had interviews this week as well. It was my last interview with President Griffin before President and Sister Collins get here. It's super weird that they're leaving. I'll miss them a lot.
We also had a super fun idea this week that we're going to keep doing. We set up a booth at a park and made a sign saying "ask the Mormons a question" and people started asking a questions. We didn't get any weird questions though. We actually got a new investigator out of it too. He's a young kid named Jayvion. He lives in a different area so we don't get to teach him but we'd of never met him without the booth. It was a super fun experience.
The week really ended with us going back to the sister missionaries investigator and cleaning up the big mess we made in her yard and her driveway. After the city made her cut down a ton of the tree they said they'd clean it up and then they never called her or picked up her calls. So we chopped the wood up and hauled it off for her. All in all, it was a fun successful week.
So I'd like to end with a thought, something I've been learning. Sometimes it's easy to get discouraged or worried about things that you can't control. But you need to remember that God is always looking
out for you. He never meant for us to feel discouraged or shame ourselves for not being perfect. He wants us to be happy, and keep moving forward. Be courageous in the things we know we can do or the things we can't control. I learned that you need to ask Him for serenity about what you can control, courage to change the things you can control, and to ask for wisdom to tell the two apart.
I love all of you and thank you for everything!
