So this week I had exchanges with Elder Yanzon. He's from the Philippines and has been out around 20 months now. We had an awesome day and talked to a ton of people. He told me a cool trick to get more appointments by calling Formers on the way to your next appointment to talk to more people. I thought it was cool.
We also had zone conference this week on top of general conference. It was cool to see how similar they both were. President Collins is really awesome! We had a fun time with breakouts and training from the zone leaders and our new mission presidency. General conference was super fun, my favorite talk was definitely Owen's. Remember that repentance is a happy thing and it's meant to help you improve no matter if you're good or bad.
And aw man did we have a crazy Friday. So a little bit of background info, our zone was challenged by another zone to a little competition of who could find the most contacts. Our last day our zone kicked it into 12th gear. We also had district meeting, four lessons, and a baptism that night. We were running around the entire day and also had some other surprise presidential errands to run and got to say hi President Collins and the end of the day. To get contacts I was on the phone the whole time elder Taylor was driving. We had 33 by the end of my day and a ton of them scheduled lessons.
But yes, Shakeen got baptized. It was cool to see him make the decision even though all I say was the end. He's a cool guy and he has such a string testimony!
Something amazing I learned this week is that truly serving is all about truly loving. When someone a investigator or a member or even another missionary you're helping out can feel that you really care about him that develops an amount of trust. Then when you give them a commitment they will trust you enough to keep it. Then they see the spirit more in their life and it's amazing. So love everyone people. It's the second greatest commandment Matthew 22:39.
